Monthly Club Meetings

Club meetings are held on the third Saturday of every month either at the club rooms or in conjunction with a club run.

If you can not attend in person we have the provision for you to attend virtually.

A club is only as strong as it s members and we con only organise events of interest to members if we know what those are.

PRESIDENT’S PRATTLE

Our most recent AVVVA Club Meeting was put back a week to coincide with the Beverley Show and I would like to thank all those members who attended with their cars and helped make this our BEST EVER turnout. There were so many member’s cars there that we ran out of the allocated spaces, a great showcasing of some of our outstanding Club vehicles. Sadly, one member was unable to attend due to backing his caravan into the shed before leaving. We missed you, Arthur. Thanks also goes to Vice-President Bronwyn for arranging our latest raffle, a selection of jams and preserves donated by Coral from Koojedda Country in Bakers Hill. Check out Coral’s Facebook page for her full range of delicious offerings. The raffle made $130 which was donated to the Beverley Pony Club who generously allowed us the use of their Club Rooms to host our meeting. The raffle was won by Josh West on a ticket paid for by dad Gary. Vice-President Bronwyn is planning further raffles to raise funds for the Club and/or elected charities, so PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING CASH TO THE MONTHLY MEETINGS. This year the Cunderdin Hot Road & Classic Car Show being held on the 22nd and 23rd of October, will host a new event “Rocker Cover Racing”. A brief explanation on how to build your very own racer and the rules of the competition, written by Rob Green, are included later in the Newsletter. This looks like a lot of fun and I would like to encourage our members to put their heads together and see if they can come up with an AVVVA entrant. Now that Winter is over it is again time to turn our attention to preparation for the return of our annual Northam Swap Meet in February 2023. Membership of the Swap Meet Committee includes, along with the President, Secretary, and Treasurer: Anne Barton Linda & Craig Costello Wolter Noppers Fred Plane Craig Pollock Isabelle Wooding In past years the bulk of the workload has fallen on a few shoulders. It’s pretty exhausting and full on for these Club members on the run up to the event and especially on the day, so this year I am appealing to all of our members to put up your hand and lend a hand. As the old adage goes “many hands make light work”. Please make your interest in helping known to any of the Swap Meet Committee members who will be drawing up a list of tasks and help needed on the day. Ed Fawkes Presiden
