Classic Car Historic Drive and Antiques Roadshow
Southern Metro Area

Sunday, November 12th, 2023

The Cities of Cockburn and Canning heritage services invite you to take part in your classic car on a tour around historic sites in the southern regions of the metro area.

Help yourself to a free cuppa at Woodloes Homestead (c1871), Woodloes St, Cannington and finish with another cuppa and Sausage Sizzle, all free, at Azelia Ley Museum, Manning Park, Hamilton Hill and join Azelia Ley’s 40th Anniversary celebration.

The route will take about an hour and a half and route/information sheets provided.

Assemble from 12 noon for a 1pm departure to have a look around Woodloes and stay on afterwards at the Azelia Ley Museum.  Tokens will be issued at the start for the refreshments available at the conclusion (not needed for the start).

Bring along your treasured heirlooms for valuation by Cockburn’s local antiques experts.

We’ll go past where the colonies fledging timber industry developed; WWII sites; Sikh heritage trails, sites of convict and aboriginal history; before heading across into the City of Cockburn.  Here you will pass sites of WWII radar detector camps, Chinese and Croatian market gardens, Pensioner Guard settlements, lime kilns, and Australia’s oldest crematorium at Woodman Point Quarantine Station.

Free event although a gold coin donation would be appreciated to look through the museums.

Bookings aren’t necessary although it would help with numbers for catering and printing.
